GCAW has published a new report which summarises the Coalitions’ activities aimed at accelerating progress on raising farm animal welfare standards in global food supply chains.
The Global Coalition for Animal Welfare: The First Five Years demonstrates the wide range of welfare issues that its members have engaged on since it was formed in 2018, and it acknowledges the valuable contributions of over 40 experts who generously offered their insights and research findings at all member meetings and focused working group sessions.
The report further includes reflections from 12 member companies from across the global food industry: Aramark, Compass Group, Elior Group, Ikea, Kroger, Maple Leaf, Nestle, Sodexo, Starbucks, The Cheesecake Factory, Tyson Foods and Unilever. Collectively, GCAW members operate in 190 markets, they work with over 60,000 suppliers and provide food products to 1 billion people every single day.
The publication of this report marks an important time in the evolution of GCAW as it looks to build on five years of innovation and collaboration through working with more global food companies and expanding species focus.
